The 5th ECUST MBA International Charity Gala with the theme of “Because of Love” was grandly held in the lecture hall of Yifu Building on the afternoon of Dec. 9, 2012. The Gala was sponsored by the ECUST Professional Master’s Programs Center and undertaken by the ECUST MBA Students Association.

The Gala was greatly supported by the leadership of ECUST School of Business. Prof. Wu Baijun, dean of School of Business, delivered his speech through a video clip. Prof. Yan Haifeng, deputy dean of School of Business, and Prof. Gao Song, director of the MBA Programs Office, arrived at the Gala to show their support. The gala was also attended by hundreds of ECUST MBA faculty and students, the current and former chiefs of the ECUST MBA Students Association over the past 12 years, as well as the representatives of the MBA associations of our partner universities, including SJTU, TJU, CEIBS, SHUFE, ECNU, USST, etc.

During the gala, Prof. Yan launched the ECUST MBA Charity Platform, and Prof. Gao presented the Best Charity Class of 2012 Award to Class 2011. Through a video clip, the students reviewed the wonderful activities of the International Day, including the Charity Gourmet Festival, International Football Friendly Match, Business Case Competition of Zhihui Salon, Charity Bazaar, etc.

In addition, all the classes presented wonderful performances, such as puppet drama, taijiquan, guzheng solo, dancing, singing, etc.

Awards such as the Best Class were presented during the gala.

The donations collected during the International Day totaled 16758.1 RMB, all of which will be used to buy winter boots and gloves for the children in Baise Dawang Primary School in Guangxi province.
